On the translation we settled the question early. This site builds on James Legge's 1899 version, public domain for more than a century, and rewrites it in modern language. That keeps the classical text free to read in full, and it keeps our sources checkable. The other sites lean on the later Wilhelm and Baynes edition, which is a fine translation, but it is not the one we use or quote.
This page follows the standard we hold for casting: one question, one cast, one answer. We verified what we could, we dated it, and we will not re-run the comparison until it flatters us. The classics warned against exactly that habit. In the Judgment of Hexagram 4, Măng, as translated by James Legge in 1899:
